Medium summer loop (red)

This medium-length trail takes you deeper into the typical Ore Mountain woods, smelling of pine needles and moss. The main attraction of this hike is the legendary historical railway, known as the Ore Mountain Semmering (Krušnohorský semmering), whose tracks line the mountain ridge. The trail weaves through the forest and occasionally offers gorgeous views of the landscape and the historical tracks. It's a great loop for those who want to clear their head in the deep forest and take beautiful photos with a touch of history.

Explore the greatest historical mystery of Kovářská! This 11-kilometer loop is perfect for a half-day trip for active hikers. The path leads you through quiet forests and valleys straight to the fascinating ruins of a historical lime kiln (Vápenka). These raw stone foundations rise in the middle of the forest like an abandoned temple and are an amazing reminder of the rugged mining and industrial past of the Ore Mountains. Wolf Pits and Blatenský vrch Lookout
🚗 25 mins from Base Camp (22 km) | 🥾 Hike: approx. 4 km (1.5 hrs total)
The trip starts at the square in Horní Blatná. The red tourist trail soon leads you to the Vlčí (Wolf) and Ledová (Ice) Pits – deep mining chasms and rocky gorges where snow often remains even in summer. From the pits, you climb to the lookout tower on Blatenský vrch (1,043 m) for beautiful views of the Ore Mountains. You won't return the same way. Descend via the yellow trail and join a comfortable paved path that runs alongside the Blatenský Ditch – a fascinating historic 16th-century water canal. An ideal shorter loop for adults and families, offering plenty of experiences over a short distance.
Legendary Baby Jesus Trail (Large Loop)
🚗 15 mins from Base Camp (13 km) | 🥾 Hike: approx. 12 km (3.5 hrs total)
The route starts and ends in Boží Dar, taking you through beautiful nature, across peat bogs, and around the Myslivny reservoir. The path is lined with 13 picturesque wooden shelters. If you are hiking with children, don't forget to stop at the Boží Dar Info Center before you start to pick up a 'Baby Jesus Passport'. A task awaits children at each shelter – if they complete them all, they receive a small reward at the finish. The trail follows paved paths, avoiding difficult terrain.
Mystical Mědník Hill (UNESCO) and the Sphinx Rocks

The trip starts at the parking lot in Měděnec. You will first climb the Stations of the Cross to the iconic Mědník Hill (910 m) with its chapel. The hill is riddled with 15th-century mining shafts and offers a breathtaking 360° view. From Mědník, loop back down to the village and take a short detour along the green trail to the 'Sfingy' (Sphinx) natural monument. These massive rocks resemble reclining Egyptian sphinxes and offer fantastic views into the Ohře river valley.
The Plešivec Nature Trail: Loop to the Olympus of the Ore Mountains

The trip starts at the spacious ČSA parking lot on the outskirts of the mountain town of Abertamy. Right from the start, you join the Plešivec Nature Trail, which leads you past historic traces of old mining activities and scenic natural spots. A gradual climb brings you to the summit of Plešivec (1,028 m above sea level). At the top, you can enjoy fantastic 360-degree views from the lookout tower and get a great meal at the mountain hotel. To ensure you never walk the same path twice, you will return to Abertamy via the northern route, passing the "Pod Plešivcem" crossroads and the local ski resorts. The path winds pleasantly through a quiet forest, bringing you in a clean loop straight back to your car. A perfect half-day trip that combines the beautiful nature of the Ore Mountains with excellent facilities at the summit.

Thanks to the open landscape, magnificent panoramas of the entire region open up during your ride, dominated by the view of Mount Klínovec. The track takes you past the picturesque St. Mark's Chapel and the old lime kiln, combining sport with lovely local sights. An ideal choice for days when you want to leave your car at Base Camp and hit the trail straight away.
Country Ridge Loop from Klínovec Summit

If you are looking for professionally and regularly groomed tracks (for both classic and skating), the "Pod Meluzínou" intersection (1,000 m a.s.l.) is your ideal starting point. Thanks to the high altitude, the snow stays here even when it's melting down in the valleys. This trip starts at a large, regularly plowed parking lot directly on the summit of Klínovec (1,244 m a.s.l.). You can step into your skis right by your car and head straight onto the trail. The route forms a perfect and safe loop that guides you along a beautiful ridge section along the German border and past scenic spots like the Na Průseku crossroads. You will return to your car in a clean loop without having to double back on the same path. The entire loop follows professionally machine-groomed tracks, making it ideal for both classic and skate skiing. Thanks to the high altitude, the track remains in pristine condition even when the snow is melting down in the valleys. A perfect ridge route with breathtaking views.

The route first leads you past the foot of the majestic Božídarský Špičák peak via the Elektrovod and Wunderblume crossroads. At the halfway point, the trail descends toward the picturesque settlement of Myslivny and the chairlift base station—the ideal spot for a well-deserved lunch in one of the local restaurants or a quick coffee. The second half of the loop climbs back up to the ridge, guiding you through the peaceful forests of the Zlatý kopec Nature Park. Along the way, you’ll pass the popular self-service refreshment kiosk "Bufík", perfect for a warm tea break. Challenging Loop from Jáchymov via Plešivec
